Leave-In Conditioner for afro hair
The essential, multi-purpose product that anyone serious about their kinks, coils and curls needs to have in their collection.
A good leave-in conditioner for afro hair is worth its weight in gold! It’s a detangler, it soothes your scalp, moisturises your tresses, adds shine, refreshes your curls… The list goes on!
Whether you’re using a leave-in conditioner as the ‘L’ in your LOC or LCO routine or you’re refreshing your styles between wash days, you’ve gotta have a leave-in on the shelf.
We’ve so many solid leave-in conditioners to choose from here at afrodrops, you’re sure to find the perfect one for you and your routine.
How often should I use a leave-in conditioner?
It’s a great question, but when it comes to natural hair the answer can vary wildly. What’s important is paying attention to what your hair is trying to tell you and go from there.
For example, if your curls are dry, you’re going to want to reach for your leave-in conditioner and refresh and inject some much needed moisture).
If your kinks and curls have lost their definition and you’re midway through your usual wash day window, a leave in conditioner can really help to bring them back to life.
As a general rule of thumb though, we recommend anything from 1-3 times per week depending on your hair porosity (how thirsty your hair is), the style you’re rocking and how much product you’ve in your hair.
Bonus tip: If you’ve low porosity hair, you’ll be better buying a leave-in conditioner that’s water based to reduce build up and prevent it from weighing your hair down. To the contrary though – got thirsty curls? Reach for a richer leave-in that can quench your curls’ thirst and keep them happy!
